Boating on the Grand Union Canal?
Fed up with double locks? Why not give yourself a change and come to Aylesbury. Enjoy sixteen narrow locks in 6¼ miles which will take you around 5 hours, with an assured welcome from the Aylesbury Canal Society on arrival at the town centre Canal Basin.
Don't be put off by the "African Queen" section below lock 13 (Red House) the water is deep and the soft reeds will part to allow your boat through.
We offer up to 2 weeks free secure mooring to visitors, a guide to the town, and use of our facilities. During the summer longer visitor moorings can be arranged. We have a social calendar with parties and summer barbecues to which visitors are always invited to join us. Want to know more? Send us an email or do what most visitors do just turn up!
